1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of the DuraPay app and website. DuraPay is operated by DuraPay Limited, and our services are provided with a partner bank licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). By creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use DuraPay.
2. Who can use DuraPay
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be able to enter into a binding agreement.
- You must give us accurate and current information.
3. Your account
To sign up, you give us your contact details, choose a password and transaction PIN, and confirm the one-time password (OTP) we send you.
In the app, you then verify your identity with your BVN, your NIN and, where needed, face verification. This lets us open your account, and you verify again when you upgrade your account. Different account tiers may come with different limits. We can't open, upgrade or keep an account we're unable to verify.
Keep your password, PIN and OTP private, and never share them with anyone, including people who say they work for DuraPay. You're responsible for activity on your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
4. Your balance and account number
Once you're verified, you get an account number. Money you send to it from any bank is added to your DuraPay balance, which you can use for transfers, bills, currency conversion and your virtual card.
5. Where your money is held
Your money is held with our CBN-licensed partner bank, which provides protection for your deposits.
6. Our services
With DuraPay you can:
- Bank transfers: send money to any Nigerian bank account or another DuraPay user. Check the recipient's details before you confirm. We can't always recover money sent to the wrong account.
- Virtual cards: create a virtual card, fund it from your balance and use it for online payments. You can freeze it in the app.
- Currency conversion: convert between naira and other supported currencies at the rate shown before you confirm.
- Airtime, data and bills: buy airtime and data, and pay for cable TV and electricity. Check the phone, smartcard or meter number before you pay.
Your account tier sets your transaction limits. You can see your tier and limits in the app.
7. Fee calculator and examples
The fee calculator and the examples on our website are estimates, for illustration only. The fee and total shown in the app before you confirm are the ones that apply.
8. Fees
Some services carry fees. Bank transfers carry a transfer fee, and the government's stamp duty applies to transfers of ₦10,000 and above. We show you every fee before you confirm, and our current fees are on the Fees page of our website.
9. What you must not do
- Use DuraPay for anything unlawful, including fraud or money laundering.
- Give us false information or use someone else's identity or account.
- Interfere with the security or normal running of the app or website.
10. Closing or suspending an account
You can ask to close your account from within the app. When you do, we return the money in your account to you.
We may suspend or close an account when we need to comply with the law, protect you or us from fraud, or because these terms have been broken. Where we're allowed to, we'll tell you why.
11. Complaints
If something goes wrong, contact us using the details at the end of this page. We'll look into it and reply to you.
12. Our responsibility
We provide DuraPay with reasonable care and skill. DuraPay offers payment services and isn't financial advice. We aren't responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably have predicted, or for delays or failures caused by events outside our control, such as network outages. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
13. Your data
How we collect and use your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make an important change, we'll tell you in the app or by another suitable means. If you keep using DuraPay after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Nigerian courts have jurisdiction, unless the law gives you the right to go elsewhere.
